Wifi Analyzer
Overview
The Airport Utility Tool (iOS), or Wifi Analyzer (Android) can be used to evaluate the functionality of a camera in a potential location prior to the installation of the camera.
These apps will provide information on the connectivity strength of a device to the WiFi network and how much interference may exist on a specific WiFi channel.
Knowing the connection strength prior to drilling holes, allows you to have a better conversation with a customer about the best location of their new cameras and let them know where they will work the best.

Understanding RSSI
RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator. It is a measurement that shows how well a particular device (such as your phone) can hear a signal from a wireless access point (such as a customer's router). The RSSI value is useful for determining if you will have enough signal strength to get a good wireless connection at that particular location.
Note: As RSSI is the "Received" signal strength, it is not an indication of "Transmit Power" from the Router.
RSSI is measured in dBm. The closer to 0, the stronger the signal strength. For video services, a dBm of -70 or greater is needed to ensure a reliable connection.
